Heirs with Christ
📖Romans 8:17 — “Now if we are children, then we are heirs—heirs of God and co-heirs with Christ, if indeed we share in his sufferings in order that we may also share in his glory.”
There’s something powerful about knowing who you belong to. Paul reminds us that in Christ, we are not outsiders, servants, or distant relatives—we are children. And not only children, but heirs of God, sharing in everything Christ secured through His obedience, His sacrifice, and His resurrection.
Being an heir means two things:
- Identity — you have a place, a name, and a Father who calls you His own.
- Inheritance — there is glory ahead, a future full of hope, redemption, and eternal life.
But Paul doesn’t skip over the hard truth: sharing in Christ’s glory means we sometimes share in His sufferings. It may look like enduring trials, resisting temptation, or walking through seasons that feel heavy. Yet even in those moments, you are not abandoned—you are walking the same path your Savior walked, and that path leads to glory.
Today, remember this: you are God’s child, fully loved and fully claimed. Whatever you face, you face it as an heir—one who is held, one who is guided, and one who is promised a future far brighter than the present struggle.
Let that truth give you strength. Let it steady your heart.
And let it remind you: Your story ends in glory.
