Practice What You Preach
📖Matthew 23:3 — “For they preach, but do not practice.”
It’s easy to speak love when we’re standing behind a pulpit, surrounded by people who expect kindness and grace. But the true test of our faith happens when we step outside the church walls—into traffic, long lines, misunderstandings, and unexpected frustrations.
Jesus warned the disciples about leaders who said the right words but lived the wrong way. Their message sounded holy, but their habits betrayed their hearts. God isn’t impressed by eloquent sermons or well-crafted teachings—He’s looking for consistency. He wants our public life and private life to echo the same truth.
The world pays more attention to our everyday reactions than our Sunday declarations.
If our words say “love,” but our actions say something else, the message becomes distorted.
Today, let’s ask God to make us people who don’t just preach love…but practice it.
Not just in worship, but in the parking lot.
Not just in devotions, but in disagreements.
Not just with strangers, but with those who test our patience.
May our actions match our message—and may Christ’s love flow from us everywhere we go. 💜
