📖Ephesians 4:15 “Rather, speaking the truth in love, we are to grow up in every way into him who is the head, into Christ” (ESV)
Speaking life isn’t just about being nice—it’s about telling the truth. But Paul reminds us that truth alone isn’t enough; it must be spoken in love. I used to struggle with this. I thought that just because I was honest, people shouldn’t be offended. But truth without love can hurt.
Jesus is the perfect example. He never lied, yet He shared truth with gentleness and humility. Sometimes, He even invited people to discover the truth for themselves through simple questions—never forcing it.
Paul goes on to show why this matters: speaking truth in love is part of our growth. We are called to “grow up in every way into Christ.” Growth isn’t optional—it’s our goal. Every act of honesty tempered by love, every humble response, every Christlike choice shapes us into His likeness. When we let Christ guide our words and actions, truth becomes life-giving, and we grow spiritually in every way—more patient, compassionate, and humble, just like Him.
